We applied for sponsorship on 17th december and have heard absolutely nothing since then. I can not open the account, since I never received any correspondance with details which would allow me to do so. I contacted compassion via email twice already and since now it is 6 February  and it has been over 7 weeks since we applied to be sponsors I thought I ask this way - is this normal? Also little girl, Maria A. i applied to sponsor is not on the website any more. I would really like to have some clarification on this matter because frankly, this is very disappointing experience so far for our whole family and unnecessary delay for little girl that is not receiving any benefits for another 7 weeks.

Cheers

I'm not staff, but try this email address: socialmedia@compassion.com  THose girls are great at responding quickly.  Also when someone sponsors a child they are removed from the website so if you filled the form for Maria that is likely why she isn't there anymore.  She's probably on your account.  Once you're set up so you can see your account Maria and any additional children you sponsor in the future will show up much quicker for you as you can see them online rather than waiting for the snail mail info.

As for the child, do not worry about her not receiving benefits.  She will be getting benefits already because she is part of the program and she'll be covered via the donations to the unsponsored kids fund until she is sponsored.  Now that she is sponsored you'll be paying for her benefits so that fund can help other unsponsored kids until they find a sponsor.  Although, she wouldn't have been getting the all-important benefit of feeling loved and chosen by someone and getting letters from a sponsor, but she would have been getting the other benefits such as being able to attend the project and having food there and taking part in whatever tutoring, classes, sports, etc the project offers.

Jelena, I am so sorry that you have not heard anything and I would be happy to check on your account and help correct this for you. Regrettably, I could not locate your account by your name and email address. Please post your child's ID number or email socialmedia@compassion.com with more information so that we can assist you further.
