I appreciate the movements Compassion is making to make letters quicker. I love the letter scrap book! But today I got a copy of my child's letter. I would love it if I could have the original letter. Now I have changed my preference and so I should be getting the original but I saw (thanks to the lovely update) that a letter is in translation. will that letter be THE letter or is it too late and it is the copy? Also my child used to write me every other month I would get a letter but now it is taking six months... Why is this?

Addyson, I am so sorry that these changes caught you off guard and were upsetting to you. Since you changed your preferences, any future letters will take longer to be processed than before but they will be sent in their original form in the mail to you. Yes, the one that is in translation in your child's country will still be mailed since you changed your preferences just please keep in mind that it will take several months to get here. There are many things that could contribute to the letters coming less often. Perhaps your child happened to miss the letter writing day. Maybe they have been sick. Or maybe they are on a school vacation and went to visit family. Staff also have been transitioning to these new guidelines and that could have contributed to a temporary slow down. However, you should always be getting letters at least every six months since you write regularly.
