Hi! I have several letters that have in translation for a few months now. I wrote one letter to Tanhia on 4/20 and then 5/16 and one  to  Cristian on 4/20..others to my other kids in May. Would you mind checking on the status of these letters for us? Thanks for all you do!

Hi David! The letters to Tanhia, Cristian, Alisson, and Nigel are still working through translation. Tay, Barack and Edwin's letters has been delivered to them already :). While we are in this transition stage, we are expecting letters to take up to three months to complete their journey through the letter system. If the letters to Tanhia and Cristian are still in translation by the end of July, please let me know and I will help you look into it :).

I have finally finished writing my final letter to Tanhia. Do I send it to the same address as regular letters? Also does the '6 sheets of paper rule' apply to final letters. I have a card and some photos(how many photos equals 1 sheet?) I wanted to include with her final letter. Will that go through? Thank you so much for all your help.

David, yes, please send your letter to:

Compassion International
[no street address necessary]
Colorado Springs, CO 80997-0004

Yes, regrettably, the 6 page rule does apply to final letters. Although you are welcome to use both front and back for a total of 12 double-sided sheets of paper. Both of the items you mentioned would go through fine. Photos would count as a one-sided sheet of paper unless you write on the back in which case it would become double-sided. I hope that makes sense.

Thanks so much Susan. I have about 8-9 photos so that will count as 1? Also will the card I made count as 1? I so appreciate your kindness and patience with me asking all these questions. The final letter is so important to me and I just want to make sure I do everything right do it gets into her hands with everything I am sending. God's blessings on how you are serving Him through your ministry to others and the children!

If we can fit all the 8-9 photos on one page, it will count as one. The card will also count as one page too! We are happy to answer your questions :)! Those final letters are always important, and we understand you wanting to do it just right!

Hi Sarah. Thanks so much for the quick response. Later yesterday I learned my Tanhia is no longer in the program but the great news is she is planning for her future. So proud of that young lady. Will the two letters in translation still be delivered to her? I also want to be sure of how long I will have to send a final letter. I had difficulty understanding the representative due to her accent and I want to make sure on details since i have been so blessed to sponsor her for so many years and also visit her. Will she be sending a final letter and am I assured she will receive mine?? Thank you so much for your help!

Hi David! I think I found the answer to your question in this article on Compassion's website, and I will post it here as well.
If you tell us you want to continue writing to your child, we’ll send you information to read, sign and return to us.

The form we send will describe what your new relationship will look like and will give us permission to share your contact information with our country staff, who will then share it with your child. If your child wants to keep in touch with you also, he or she will send you a letter or an e-mail to begin the conversation.
I hope this helps! Have a great weekend!
