Debra, if you are talking about trying to do a custom visit, we normally recommend having your children travel to visit you in the capital city. We recommend this because student centers are sometimes very remote and flights directly to your child's area may not exist. In many cases, your child may more safely and inexpensively travel to meet you than you trying to meet them right where they live.

That said, the closest airport to Elianny is the Cibao International Airport as it is in the same city where she lives. The closest airport to Yimelis is 50 miles south at the Maria Montez Airport. The closest airport to Alangael is 200 miles east at the Comitán Airport.

Hi Debra. I have been on custom visits where some if my sponsor kids live far from the airports. You can talk to someone in custom visits and ask about travel arrangements to visit your sponsor child. One of mine lives in Ecuador A 4 hour drive from Quito. They arranged a host and driver for me. I paid for hotel rooms for me and my host and the fee I paid the driver included his room, gas for the van and food. Well worth it.

Thank you for that info William that is very helpful. The only one I worry about traveling is my boy in mexico because I see it is 200 miles from him and that is a long distance for a child so I think I will try to get at least maybe half way to him so it is not so hard on him.

It probably would not be such a hard trip for your sponsor child since he would be excited to meet you. For me it is worth the time to travel the distance to where my sponsor kids live. A cross country trip like I have done is quite a journey. I would not trade it for anything.

Yes I absolutely am looking forward to meeting my kids My kids are all growing up here at home so this really makes me happy to help these familes and do something good. I just want the trip to be as easy as it can be for them
