Accidentally sent first letter when I wasn't finished

I recently sponsored a child and followed an email link to write my first letter with the fill in the blank template. Unfortunately, I accidentally hit the enter key (multiple times? I'm not sure what happened) while filling out one of the sections, and the browser sent the letter before I could finish all the sections. I sent a second "first" letter via the same link and filled it out in full with no hitches. But now I'm worried there are two letters out there, one of them a mess. Neither are showing up yet under "My Letters". Thanks for any help in clearing this up!

Hi Lillian! Thank you very much for reaching out! I'm so sorry the online letter-writing tool wasn't very friendly for you! I would be happy to see if there are two letters from you headed to your child. Sadly, I couldn't find your account based on the email address you provided. Would you kindly provide us with your sponsor number, or your child's ID number?

If it has your child's name there, then that should mean you're logged in to your account! Does the page you're on say "Hi Lillian" at the top, or does it say "Log In"?

This is what I see (Her name appears just below this, I just wasn't sure if I should make it public).

Oh, that is so interesting! Usually, the site looks like this:

And you can see the option to log in at the top. It looks like you may not be logged in, but I can't tell from the photo you sent. Are you able to log in to your account?

If I click the "Sponsor a Child" button on the top of MY page, I am taken to a page that has a header exactly like YOURS. I appear to not be logged in because it says "LOG IN." If I click log in, yes, I am able to log in perfectly fine. As Vicki E has said, maybe these are different from the letters written in one's account? I wrote the letters in question on Sept 24, so it's been 7 days, but maybe as you say, I should just wait a couple more days to see if they show up under "My Letters."

Well, now under "My Letters" I have one conversation with a letter FROM my child, submitted/translated 10/1 (Today). So that was fast/I'm still confused - haha! I'm not sure if this has anything to do with where my letters went! :)

I recently added two new sponsorships and also filled out the same form letters. They showed up in my account five or six days after sending them. I also received a similar form letter for Valentine's Day this year and filled it out for my sponsored child. It too showed up in my account a few days later. These are different than if you're actually writing a letter in your account.

Thanks for posting. I'm at 7 days now since sending them, so we'll see if they show up.

Lillian, thank you so much for continuing to work with us on this, and Vicki, thank you for your insight, as well! Lillian, I am so sorry, but it looks like your letter(s) may not have been sent at all, especially since you're not logged in to your account. I do not know where they would have gone, but my best guess would be that they're not headed to your child. You are, of course, welcome to wait a few more days if you would like before writing another letter, but I don't see any record of the ones you initially wrote. I'm so sorry for this inconvenience, and I wish I could locate them for you! :(

I've just checked again, and one of my first fill-in-the-blank letters is in my account now and in translation! Thankfully, it's the correct one (not the incomplete one!)! I'll keep an eye out for the other one, too. Hopefully it doesn't get sent. :) Thanks so much for your help!

Could you answer another question for me? I received an introduction letter from my child just one week after I sponsored her. It is not personalized with my name. Do both of these facts mean that it was filled out before she even had a sponsor (it's not dated) and sent automatically when she was sponsored? Or did she actually write one so quickly and already knows she's sponsored?

Yes, it was pre-written and sent when she got a sponsor. I have 10 Compassion kids total & have asked some of these questions also!

Oh, that's so wonderful! I'm glad to hear it! I see the letter on our end, too!

I would be happy to answer this question for you! Each child writes an introductory letter when they are first enrolled in the program, so that means that Estrella wrote that first letter you received before you were her sponsor. Now, though, she knows you are her sponsor, and each letter from here on out should be addressed to you. :)
