I am considering buying adopting an animal for Christmas presents this year. Can a card or ecard be sent for Christmas to that person letting them know this was done in their name?

I think that's a great idea! I believe you are referring to the Gifts of Compassion catalog. Once you place your order from the catalog, you can choose a card that can either be sent directly to the recipient or to you to give to them. You can choose from several different cute card designs. Make sure you order by 12/12/11 in order to receive your greeting cards in time for Christmas (you can always print a card at home after this date).
