An unexpected child added to my account

I had three sponsored children. One unexpectedly had to leave the program. I have been receiving many emails for new children and have not selected one and was not planning to right now. I received an email formally introducing a new child to my account. I am not ready to add another child at this time and am concerned Compassion will keep adding to my account without authorization. I need some help getting this taken care of at this time. Thank you

Hi Kristy! I am sorry for the confusion about your new child, Valeria. At the time Sonya left Compassion's program, we sent you a letter explaining that we had a child on reserve for your consideration. The letter explained that you were under no obligation to sponsor this new child, but that we would need to hear from you if you decided not to continue sponsorship.

Please understand that it is our heart to get children sponsored, but we in no way want to offend anyone in doing so. In fact, we adopted the above procedure at the request of many of our sponsors. I have made Valeria available to another sponsor, and I have also updated your account settings to reflect that in the future, you do not want us to send you information on a new child when one of your children leave the program. Again, I am so sorry for this inconvenience and confusion. :(
