A couple of children that we sponsor have written of their career goal of becoming police officers. One has asked about police uniforms in my country and I've found pictures to send, and even some info about history/purpose of styles. Here is my question: is it appropriate to include photos that have holstered guns in them as part of their uniform? For example:

The other source of my question is that I'm fine living within Compassion's boundaries on this, just would rather not do the work of creating something and realize later than it doesn't go through :)

We do agree with Stephen. Regrettably, although we appreciate your time spent in the military, we do work in some very sensitive areas that may be offended or feel threatened by pictures of military with guns. You are more than welcome to send pictures in your uniform without weapons though! :)

Honestly, this is such a grey area. We know that a lot of our kiddos live in areas that have been negatively affected by war, and so we want to be careful that we send pictures of our military that show how caring and loving we are. Any pictures that are sent that have weapons are going to be a hard call because we have no idea how our kiddos were affected and by whom. The picture that showed a police uniform seems very unoffensive, as it is just a small pistol that is in his holster. If you would like, we would be happy to take a look at the picture that you would like to send. Otherwise, I am sure you have some beautiful pictures without weapons that you could share! :)
