Are the children of sponsors assigned additional correspondents without notifying the sponsor?

I know that children have only one sponsor with Compassion, but are they ever assigned additional correspondents to write to without their financial sponsor’s knowledge? I’m asking this mainly because my daughter has sponsored a girl for several years, but neglected to write for the last few. I recently discovered this and took over the child’s sponsorship and write her regularly. So I wondered if she now writes other correspondents as well.
