Some are but not all. I know my Mom has 2 that are orphans but all of mine have parents. If you go to the website here:

http://www.compassion.com/sponsor_a_child/default.htm

Then on the right hand side click the option for "Show more search options (child name, special needs and more)"

One of the drop down options is Orphan. Click yes, and hit search now. Only children who are orphans will be displayed. I am only seeing 1 orphan up at the moment, but the website has new children on every week as new children become available for sponsorship.

You can also call the office Monday - Friday and ask them to find a child. There may be a slight wait depending on how specific your request is, I know the wait can be longer for specific countries, etc. But you can be placed on a wait list for the child that matches your criteria.

If all else fails I know when I was trying to pick my first child to sponsor (I sponsor 3 now!) I was really struggling to pick and my Mom told me, you can't pick the wrong child. :) Hope that helped!

Hi Cindee! I really appreciate your desire to sponsor an orphan. These children need a loving adult in their life that will give them hope and let them know that they are loved and valued! Like Andrea mentioned, not all of our children are orphan's but we certainly do register orphan's into our projects. You can search for a child through our website, or we would also be able to help you find a child. If you would like assistance, you can email us at ciinfo@us.ci.org with your contact information and we would be happy to send you information on a child for consideration. You are also welcome to call our office at (800) 336-7676 and one of our representatives would love to assist you in sponsoring your first child with us :). I will be praying that the Lord would guide you in which child to support and please let me know if I can answer any other questions for you!
