A child that I had been sponsoring for a while recently left the program because she was no longer in need of it. Shortly after, I received a package with another child's information which said that if I did not choose another child I would be sponsoring this child (Estefani) in two weeks. So I logged into my account, clicked the "no, I'd like to choose a different child button" and began sponsoring Luz. Now both children are listed under my account, but I am not financially able to sponsor two children so I need my sponsorship of Estefani to be cancelled. I do feel really bad if this means that she will receive communication that someone has sponsored her when that is not the case, but I followed all of the instructions to not have her added to my account so I feel that this is not my fault and that perhaps Compassion should have a better way of handling this. (For example, waiting for confirmation of the new sponsorship rather than automatically starting it.) I would be very grateful if you could help me resolve this quickly so I don't have to continue to worry about it. Thank you for your time.

Natasha, I am so sorry that happened to you! Our online system is supposed to replace the old child with the new instead of adding both to your account. Also, typically the timeline is six weeks and not two to make a decision. I sincerely apologize for our error. As you requested, I have made Estefani available for another sponsor. Please rest assured that she has not been notified yet. We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback with us and I will certainly pass this along.

Hello! This is Chris and Whitney Day.
Our sponsor child was recently dropped from the program. We'd like to request not to be automatically assigned a new child. We'd like to pray and choose another one ourselves.

Hi Chris! Thank you so much for letting us know your wishes. As you requested, I have made the child who was on hold for you available for another sponsor. Let us know if we can help in any other way.
