I sent my child in Bangladesh a birthday gift in the amount of $10. That doesn't seem like alot. Do you know how much things cost in Bangladesh and if she will be able to buy something worthwhile
with only $10? I also worry that if other sponsors send their children more money on their borthdays, my Sunali will think I don't care about her as much. I do plan to send a larger family gift later on. It's just that with it being a birthday gift around Christmastime, there is more of a time/financial constraint.I'm sorry I keep asking so many questions, by the way!

Here's a post about how much things cost in Bangladesh, Rebekah. I want to encourage you not to worry the amount of your gift. I believe what's most important is to have a kind and willing heart to help those in need, and you obviously do. Remember the story in the Bible about the loaves and fishes that Jesus used to feed a whole crowd of people? God can do amazing things with your gift! Your Sunali is very blessed to have you as her sponsor. :)

I have a Bangladesh child with a near Christmas birthday too (January)! I understand how hard it is to pick a $ amount to send especially this close to Christmas. I only sent $20 myself, so I think $10 is perfectly wonderful! I also sent a family gift at the same time, but I'm kind of with you waiting until later to help combat the post Christmas blues. Next year I will do it your way and wait until spring. Good job remembering your kiddo's birthday and making it special for her! I'm sure she'll be thrilled! :)

Hi Rebekah! Thank you so much for your obvious heart to give above and beyond to your kiddo :). ANY amount that you give is a blessing! I completely agree with Adam and Holly. Through God, all things are possible! The post that Adam shared is very helpful if you are curious about what $10 can buy :). The current exchange rate as of May 2016 is US $1 equals 78.55 Bangladeshi Taka, so your $10 will go much farther than you may think. I'm sure that your child will be so excited and thankful to receive your gift :). We wish you a very Merry Christmas!
