I feel like a terrible sponsor because I can't keep up with reading and writing letters back and forth. Can I just apply my monthly gift to pay overhead? I trust you all to put the money to good use and would feel better if my sponsored child had a sponsor that wasn't such a dud.

Kristi dont beat yourself up. As Sierra said you are not a dud. You care enough for your Sponsored child that you feel bad about lack of correspondence and want whats right for your child to help them grow spiritually and mentally. I know that feeling I got when I sponsored my first kids. I even sat down a few times with pen and paper but never could finish a letter. I was lucky to do one letter a year...this was before online letters came to be.... and the guilt can just eat you alive. In concept how hard or how much time can it take to write a letter. In my case it used to be a very long time. I do much better today but still not where I need to be. I want to thank you for your courage and honesty and most importantly putting your sponsored childs needs ahead of your own. Someday down the road our Lord may convict you to take on Sponsorship again.
If He does you will be equipped. May our wonderful Lord Jesus Christ bless you in all that you do for His Kingdom....
