Can I send letter from templates I found online? Or even make my own stationary? Or do I have to use the ones Compassion provides?

YES! You can still send letters through the mail to their address, on any stationary you want to use. Write the letter, be sure to include sponsor ID and child ID on every sheet. Max of 6 sheets (front and back) per child. But you can put correspondence to more than one child in the envelope when you send it to Compassion. If you have the ability to scan to a JPEG or TIFF format, you can also write your letter, scan it in, and then attach it online to send. I have typed up letters in Word (allowing me to put pictures more precisely within the text) and printed (using Universal Document Converter) to JPG format and then attached.

Awesome! Thank you!!! So, 6 sheets max, if I have one sheet double sided, does that count as two?

I'm not sure you are allowed to write 12 sheets of handwriting (6 sheets front and back). I've never sent more than 2 handwritten sheets (one sheet front and back). Used the other sheets to send coloring pages, Sudoku puzzles (and the instructions for doing them), Photos. Do realize anything you send is going to be printed front and back to conserve paper on the other side.

My understanding is that you can write 12 sheets of handwriting total meaning six individual sheets of paper but written on the front and the back of each individual sheet. One double sided sheet counts as one individual sheet of paper. Remember that color sheets, cards, and stickers are all a part of and not an addition to the 6 individual sheets count.

So cool! I've played with trying to do something like this, but had problems figuring it out. (my kids are all Central/South America so our chain would be shorter)
