I have a similar question, Anna. I already print my own stationary. But, I have to mail the letters on my stationary. Is there a plan to allow us to write our letters and scan them so we can upload them, and not need to mail them?
Basically, it needs to be in JPG or TIFF Form. But the computer does not care if it is a "photo" of the letter (what happens when you scan in a letter -- it takes a photo of it) or of a coloring page or one taken by a camera of people, places, or things. oops. Correction. JPG, GIF, BMP, or PNG. It does not accept TIFF.
No help. I send cards to my kids. Cards that are two sided. There is no way to send duplex copies. I have worked with computers for over 40 years. That option is totally absent of needed instructions. My letters are also often two-sided. This option needs more work before I will even try it.
Each side of a letter/card is a different page once scanned (at least in jpeg and gif formats. Not as familiar with the others). So a two sided letter would be two images that need to be uploaded separately. Our scanner at work handles duplex scanning easily. At home, I have to turn the page over and scan gain.
Printers print the second side of a two-sided document, in one of two ways, "flip on long edge" or "flip on short edge." When I mail a card it is scanned two-sided, since it is two-sided. If I send two sides as one sided documents, the second side will be 1) printed correctly, or 2) the second side will be 180 degrees off from what it is supposed to be. Imagine a greeting card with the front right side up, and the inside upside-down and backwards. Since the instructions are vague/non-existent, I'll keep mailing anything I want duplexed. My printer prints duplex. That isn't the issue.
I expect they are all printed Flip on long edge. The only times I change that at work is when I am printing bigger than normal pages (11x17) and they have said letter sized only for sending stuff for our sponsored children. Even when the 8.5x11 paper (Usually a diagram or picture) is rotated such that the title is on the long side instead of the short, I still put it in the document such that you can turn pages normally. (flip on long edge) I see this in books as well. Pictures you need to turn the book on its side to see completely.
Hi Garry! I'm so sorry for any inconveniences our online letter writing tool may have caused with uploading your cards. I have passed along your feedback to our web team :). In the meantime, I think sending your cards in physically is a great workaround :). Thank you for your grace and understanding!
