I'd like to give my sponsored child in Rwanda a little gift (non-monetary) that I picked out. It's very small, so much so that it could fit in an envelope, but I think she will love it. Would it be possible if I could send it to her? If yes, how do I go about doing that? Thankyou! :)

Hi Aneika! Thank you so much for your heart and desire to bless your sponsored girl! Sadly, we can't accept anything that isn't a flat paper item. Everything we send to our country offices is declared at customs as a document. If custom officials find anything in a box of letters that isn't a document, we are assessed a hefty fine and the box will be held for weeks, possibly months. I so wish you could send this thoughtful gift to your sponsored girl. I'm so sorry for any disappointment this may cause! :(

Hi Sierra,

Thank you for your prompt response! Awww sad to hear I can't send her a gift. You mentioned flat paper items, so maybe I will send her some stickers instead as she is very young and I think she will enjoy those as well!

Akeika,

Thank you again for your kind heart to want to bless your sweet girl! We know that the children truly love receiving items with their cards and I would probably say that stickers are the top favorite! :)

Hi Aneika,

I just wanted to chime in and say that as a fellow sponsor I have always sent my kids Bookmarks and stickers and they have always been a hit.  FYI...Amazon has great kid friendly book marks and the ones that "move" (have a picture of something that moves when you move it back and forth have always been a huge hit with my sponsor kids.)....

Hi Angelslegacy,

Thank you so much for your response to Aneika! We appreciate your input! I did just want to mention that Compassion is only able to send items that are paper, meaning some hologram bookmarks are not allowed. Just to clarify, the ones that are thick and bumpy, will not go through, but the smooth, flat, shiny ones should be fine! :) Thank you again for blessing your kiddos with fun items!
