Hi Jane,

Yes, you can go ahead and write to your child. You can send the letter in the mail or online on the compassion website.

For our first sponsored child, I sponsored her at a Compassion Experience.  I put the child name and sponsor on the first letter I wrote (Paper because I did not have a online account). I also put my number and left the sponsor number blank because I did not have one assigned and put it in mail to Compassion's Colorado address.  Once I got a sponsor #, I signed up and started sending letters online. The letter got to Colorado, got scanned and was put on my account and sent on to my child from there.

Hi Jane! It looks like you already have an online account created. You are welcome to write to your new child through the "Write My Child" link through your My Account or you can write a physical first letter if you'd rather do that. Please make sure to put your sponsor number, 07821743, and your child's ID, UG092700135, on the top of the letter and mail it to our office at:

Compassion International

Colorado Springs, CO 80997

Let me know if I can help you further and enjoy this sweet new young woman!

Thanks so much!! And I was wonder If I need to write to her on a normal sheet of printer paper or if I can use cute stationary? She speaks English too so I do not believe my letter will need to be translated. Thanks again for all the help.

You can use any type of paper, no bigger than 8.5x11 and 6 pages, written front and back.  Be aware all such letters will be scanned and so be aware of how busy the background is -- that your writing will still be legible.
