That means the letter is still in translation. Once you are able to view it the X will go away.

Hi Linda! Yes, Marla is correct! When a letter is in translation or still processing, it will usually have an "X" on it, and you won't be able to open it. Once it has finished processing, Juan's letter will show up at view-able. Since your correspondence delivery preference is on email and printed letter, you'll receive an email once it becomes available on your account, and you'll receive the physical copy in the mail about two weeks later. Please let us know if you have any additional questions. Have a blessed day!

How long does it take to translate? My child sent the letter almost 4 weeks ago and I’m eager to respond and want to know what the letter says.

Hi, Vanessa! I know it is so exciting to receive a new letter from your child, and waiting for the translation process to be complete can feel like forever! Letters should be translated within three months. If you notice a letter is sitting "In Translation" for over three months, please let us know, and we can send an inquiry to your child's center requesting an explanation as to why it's taking so long! Thank you so much for being a faithful sponsor. :)
