We sent money for our child's birthday gift, but have received no confirmation that it was purchased for our child or received by him. Are special gifts for birthdays, Christmas, etc. normally acknowledged in some way? Thank you!

Debra you should receive a thank you within six months of sending the funds. If it has been more than six months, Compassion will do amy inquiry for you. I'm sure someone from Compassion will he able to assist after the weekend!

Hi Debra! Thank you so much for sending Luis a special gift for his birthday :)! I am sure it brought a huge smile to his face. I know you must be eager to see how he used his gift. You should hear from Luis soon about his gift, probably in the next letter he sends you! Here's the breakdown of how gifts are acknowledged: If the gift of less or equal to $20, the child will acknowledge the gift in their next scheduled letter. Gifts of $21-$59 generate a special thank you letter that the child will send. Any gift given over $60 will mean the child will acknowledge your gift with the special thank you letter and a photo of the gift that was purchased. It can take up to six months from the time you sent the gift for you to hear back about how the child used it. That means that you should actually hear from Luis by the end of June about his gift!
