Can you recommend any appropriately-sized folders we can send to our kids?

I've seen that it's okay to send standard paper pocket folders to our Compassion kids, but I've now read in some places that you trim them down. We sent folders to our children in Mexico last month & I'm disappointed to learn they might have been altered. They held 8.5 x 11 pages, but the folders themselves were a little larger (maybe 9.5 x 11.75).

I'd love to find ones that work! Can you share any info you have on brands or types that can pass through "as-is"? I'd love to find a simple way to package some of our letters & larger-sized paper gifts together that fits within the 8.5 x 11, 1/4" thick mailing guidelines!

Thanks for your help!

C Sanders, I personally have never been able to find folders that fit within the size guidelines, but I did cut the folders down to the right size and then used package tape to put them back together the one time I did send folders to my kids. They still loved them :). There are lots of active sponsors on here who have sent folders, and some of them may have seen some that are the right size without altering them.

Sarah, can we still send stuff?  I want to send another package if we can still send things.  I sent one nine days ago and if we can send another I would love, too!!

You're absolutely welcome to continue sending your child paper items in the mail, Denise! I would suggest continuing to follow the letter guidelines we currently have in place and no additional, questionable items. Until we post updated letter guidelines, ensure that anything you send is within the size limits and made of paper :).
