How do I know that I can trust Compassion? How can I be sure that they are really using my money correctly?

Having visited our child in TZ in her village-I can tell you 100% that you can trust them! Seeing their centre, being in the child's home/family, meeting the counselors & pastor - it is amazing the detailed records they keep on the child. It is an open book of everything (health, etc). The counselors were young adults that had grown up in the area, gone to school & were devoted to coming back to that village to do this work. The associate that traveled a great distance from Arusha & met us was wonderful in accompanying us. I have listened to many other organizations that assist children & I was never even 20% as impressed as Compassion & I do believe that some are "scams" or maybe a great deal of funds used for "administrative" but seeing this personally I am assured in Compassion. Being in TZ in various places & knowing the cost of items I am completely satisfied that all monies sent are used for that child-also any funds sent for her birthday & other is given to them to use for themselves personally.
