Please cancel our Sponsorship, a.s.a.p.  Due to some recent concerns and problems we have had with Compassion, we don't feel led to continue. We received one letter from Compassion saying our child's name has been changed but didn't say why. And today, we got a letter saying we owe $76 when our account shows that November and December 2017 have been paid, with us also sending $25 for a Christmas gift.  We are not happy.  Please don't offer to lower our monthly payments because we don't want that.  We want to cancel.  The 'supposed' child is: Arturo Fernando Sancan Alay.  Number: 06487738. (We have sponsored him for almost 3 years and now we find out his name changed and you're trying to double bill us as well?)
Just cancel us.

Anita, as requested, I have canceled your sponsorship this morning. I am so sorry that Compassion has caused you to have doubts about the ministry through recent communications. From everything I see, I am not sure that Arturo's name did change. I can't see what his name used to be listed as except on the letters themselves, but I don't see the difference. It is not uncommon for a birthdate or name correction to occur, due to a clerical error or the family updating information previously given. Also, I see that you are on automatic contributions with your bank account. You actually shouldn't have received a statement this month at all but we have been dealing with an issue affecting statements over the last month and some sponsors are receiving these when they shouldn't. The statement said $76 was needed by January because you give your donations on the 20th, which is the same day the statements go out. Because they go out on that date, the information needed to be placed on those statements is collected a few days prior to that. Your account would have then showed that we still needed December's donation as well as the January donation by the date given on that statement. I sincerely apologize for this mistake as you shouldn't be receiving those statements in the first place. Please let me know if you have any further questions.
