Cancel sponsorship

Tara, I'm not Compassion staff but they'll answer you after the weekend. I'm so sorry you have to cancel your sponsorship. Compassion does offer a few options if you think this will be a short term situation.
For instance they can cover a couple of months for you, or lower your sponsorship rate for a few months . If something like that would help you, please let them know! If not, they'll be able to process your cancellation for you.
Do know that your child will remain in the program if you so have to cancel, and they will still receive all the benefits of the program while compassion searches for a new sponsor for them.

I am so very sorry to hear the pain in your message. I truly understand how it feels to know you have to make decisions based on finances, that you would otherwise not make. However, I am hoping we can help you! :)

As Kristen mentioned, we do have a few options for our supporters when they are experiencing financial problems. I would love to offer for Compassion to cover three months of sponsorship for you to allow you a small break from the financial commitment. This means we would completely cover the months of February through April. In addition, we would be happy to place you on a reduced rate of sponsorship for the following three months. This means that for the months of May through July your donation would be reduced to $19 per month. However, if you still feel it is best to cancel your sponsorship, please let us know and we will be happy to fulfill your wish to cancel.

I appreciate your kind words and offer to help. I feel that it is going to take us a long while to get in a better place financially. Therefore, I need to cancel my sponsorship. Thank you for your help
