The child we sponsor lives in India and the program has ended in India. We also understand that our contributions leading up to this have also not been used recently because of issues with the India program. How do we end our automatic payments and how do we receive a credit back on unused funds? Thank you!

George Billy, we are so heartbroken over the situation in India. I have stopped your automatic withdrawal. Are you wanting to sponsor another child or have the funds that have been held transferred to a different purpose such as critical needs? Please let us know how you would like these funds used and we would be happy to honor your wishes. Thank you so much for all that you have done for Dipika over the last few years! We have truly been honored to partner with you!

Thank you for your reply.  Yes, we are heartbroken over this.  We will continue to keep Dipika in our prayers.  We know that Jeremiah 29:11 applies for her.  We look forward to meeting her one day, even if it not be in this life.  For now, we request that any unused funds in our account be credited back to us.  Please let us know what this amount is and how and when it will be credited.  Thank you!

Hi George! I am submitting the request to refund ten months of support, $380, back to your account. It will take several weeks to place it back on your account because of the amount of requests we currently have coming in for this. The department that handles these is behind in processing them, but the money will be placed back on your card as soon as possible!

Hi Courtney, I have stopped your automatic withdrawal for Raj. Can you please email us at socialmedia@us.ci.org regarding your refund amount? We just need to know the amount that you are requesting. Thanks!

Hi Lati! Thank you so much for your continued impact on children living in poverty. I am so sorry that you cannot continue with your India child, but I know God has something special in store for you with the new child you pick as well :). The easiest way to pick a new child is to log into your account online and find a new child to sponsor there. Once you have picked the child, you should see a box under the new child's photo in your cart that asks, "What prompted you to sponsor today?". Pick "India Sponsor" from the dropdown and continue with the process of setting the sponsorship up. I've included a photo for you in case that helps too! Let me know if I can help further!

Hello Sarah,
My circumstances have changed and I would like to cancel my automatic withdrawals.  I would appreciate a refund of any used funds if that is possible as well. If that is not possible please let me know.

Thank you!

Lati, I have cancelled your automatic withdrawals and submitted a refund for the amount that you had given that was unable to be sent to India for your child. Please note that your tax receipt will now need to be amended and we will get that to you as soon as possible as well.

Hi, Sarah, I have a similar request to my fellow sponsors above.  While we have two other children in Colombia and the Dominican Republic that we would like our contributions to continue, please cancel our funding of Josbin Mon Jose IN073200001 as of today.  You can process the refund of $380 like the other sponsors.  We will be making a separate donation to Compassion for several different funds of our choosing once we receive this money back in our account.

As a brief testimony, I wanted to share that my wife and I (and three of our friends) actually got to meet Josbin when we traveled to India in January 2016!  It was such a blessing to meet him and his family before Compassion's operations closed.  We also met amazing Compassion staff members there, as well.  I encourage all sponsors to make every effort to meet your child!  It will change your life.  Josbin will be in our hearts and prayers forever.

Thanks for your help!

Hi Jeff! I have taken care of canceling Josbin's sponsorship for you today and requesting the refund be processed and placed back in your account. Your refund will actually be $320 instead of $380 due to your sponsorship rate being at a grandfathered rate of $32 instead of $38. We are behind in processing these refunds at the moment, especially with so many of them coming in. It may take up to six weeks for your refund to be processed, but it will be coming to you! I am so glad you and your wife were able to meet Josbin last year before all of this happened. I know that your visit was planned perfectly by God and that it will remain in Josbin's heart and mind for the rest of his life. Only a small number of children ever get to meet their sponsors! :)!
