Two of my letters to my sponsored child Juan (given name is Josue, was told to call him Juan) in Nicaragua now show up as CANCELLED when you click on progress. They were written on 12/18 and 12/26 and were in translation until 1/08 and 1/09 and marked cancelled that day as well. Each says “has a problem” and above that is a blue line where it says delivery cancelled. I checked my email and see nothing from CI explaining this. As a new sponsor I would like an explanation so I don’t repeat same mistakes again. Thank you.
Hi Ann! Thanks so much for reaching out to us. I apologize for this inconvenience. According to the notes that our field staff left us, the letter we received on January 8th was cancelled because it was addressed to someone besides Juan. I was able to view the letter itself, and it may be because you wrote "Irma and Juan", and they counted that as being addressed to someone else. The other letter has the same issue. I wonder if this is because his preferred name is different than his given name, but the field staff should be aware of this. I would be happy to send an inquiry to his center staff, requesting that they confirm that his preferred name is indeed Juan, so you will know how to address those letters in the future! Again, I sincerely apologize for this inconvenience!
Sierra, I have two letters to Samuel de Jesus Medrano that have been in translation for a long time. They were in translation on 12/29 and 1/05. Is that long enough they can be checked on. He is a correspondent child for me and these are the first two letters I wrote. I’m mailing one today and am writing one online unless I find out there is some issue. I didn’t know how long before it can be bhecked on but since I had two to the other child which stayed in translation so long that were then cancelled, I thought I’d ask. I don’t want Samuel to feel he got another sponsor that isn’t going to write! Thank you.
