I love the online letter writing tool. But it drives me crazy when I try to add something to a letter I'm writing, only to have the tool erase the last lines of the letter. I can't always remember what I wrote!

Is there someway you could rig it so it could inform me I'm over the limit, without having it erase stuff I've already put time and thought into?

Hi Jamie! I'm so sorry for the frustration that you are experiencing when you try sending letters to your child. I'm going to send this to our webmaster. She will have some good tips for you or will be able to fix this issue. When you say "add something to a letter" are you talking about photos? Also, what type of  browser and operating system are you using?

Thanks for the reply Susan!

When I say add something to the letter, I mean adding a bit more text to clarify a point; something like that. A good example I just had; I had written a letter to my child Jose, and then decided to duplicate it for my child Lalhlimpuii. When I went into the letter to change my reference from 'Jose' to 'Lalhlimpuii', the tool erased the last 7 words of my letter. Apparently those extra 10 letters pushed it over its limit. But it would have been great if instead of just deleting the end of my letter, the program could just tell me, 'Hey, you are over the limit, you should change something', and then not let me continue until I did. Sometimes what I write at then end matters more than something I've put in the middle, you know?

I write on both my home computer and my work computer. I use the most recent update to firefox at home, on my Mac OSX. I'm not sure of the work computer. It's internet explorer, possibly windows 7? Not sure. I've had the issue on both.
