I am an advocate and have been talking with a men's and a woman's small group from my church about child sponsorship. The men's group would like to find children to sponsor in the poorest areas of the world. I found one center (IN484) that says the average wage is $8 a month. Is there a way that you could tell me some other centers that we could look at?

Then the women's group is specifically looking for centers that minister to the Dalit or in Red Light districts in Asia. Do you have that information available and could you give me the center numbers? Thank you very much!

I am sure a Compassion employee will be able to give you a list of projects but here is a link to a student in Tanzania that the monthly income is $5 per month.                                                 http://www.compassion.com/sponsor_a_child/child-video-biography.htm?needKey=TZ3110053

Hi Douglas! Regrettably, we do not have a way of searching for centers specifically by average wage, ethnicity, or for Red Light Districts. However, I do know of a few centers in India that I know of that serve Red Light Districts: IN860, IN875, and IN857. I am so sorry that I cannot be of more help.

I have seen a few centres in Uganda that have $1/month as the average wage and many, many centres in that country with under $10

UG145 has a monthly income of $5, UG102 is $7,  UG101 is $4, UG706 is $5.  Seems like a lot of them do have low incomes.

IN864 also serves a Red Light District and IN215 is in a very poor area.

I have a girl in IN215. It's a slum community and yes, extremely poor :( The project sure does a lot for the kids there.
