Child Letter Preference and Contribution Statement

Hello Compassion,

Thank you for the good work and I am enjoying sponsoring children with you!

Just a little concern about receiving letters. In the "Child Letter Preference" in my account, I ticked "Email" and "Original", as it allows me to tick more than one option. It was when it first came out.

After that, I received a few letters from my two boys, and they are all in Emails. I have not receive any letters physically since you change to the new system. Will I still get the "Original"??

One more thing is that I've been receiving in mail the "Contribution Statement". And quite frankly, I don't need them. Can I not receive these statements?

Hi Adri! Thank YOU for all the love you give to your sweet boys! Indeed your letter delivery preference is to receive an email and the physical original letter :). However, it will take a considerably longer time to receive the physical original letter in the mail because physical letters will be mailed with less frequency now with the new system updates. This is mainly to conserve money because it is very expensive for us to send many letters as often as we were. This will enable us to allocate more sponsorship funds for the children and less on mailing. I'm so sorry that it will take longer to receive them, but please rest assured that they are coming :). 

I definitely understand your desire to reduce mailings :). I have updated your account preference to no longer receive the contribution statements. Please keep in mind that if you accidentally miss a month or two, then you will not be notified until the third month :).

Hi Christina, I have been signed up for original letters since the new system started in April, but have yet to receive any. Have any been sent from the country offices since the start of the new system? I understand that it will take longer to receive original letters, but i have not received an original letter since early April. Thanks for your help!

Hilary, I have seen some come through from the country offices but because we are sending fewer packages these days they will take a very long time.

Hi Christina,

Thank you for letting me know. I just thought I did something wrong with the system :) Good to know everything is fine! It is a great because I can see the letter in emails before they got sent, so I can also reply to the letter much faster!

Also, thanks for stopping the contribution statements for me!
