Hello, the info on my account says that Jayramie is not in school and the reason is "other." I think he was in school at one point because he has talked about liking math in letters, so can you tell me what has changed with his situation? I want to see if I can get an idea of what's going on before I ask him. Thanks!

Jenn, I appreciate the question. We had a thread a while back on this subject that you might want to read for more background. Our program looks much like what would be called an after-school program here in the US. Each student center is empowered to provide the greatest needs within their community. Our student centers always provide holistic child development in the cognitive, social, physical, and spiritual areas of development. The country and center are able to decide what that looks like in their culture and context. The benefits of the program include:
- Medical checkups, which often save lives
- Nutritious food
- Health and hygiene training
- Educational assistance, including tutoring, supplies and sometimes tuition to school
- Access to special services like surgeries and disaster relief
- Mentoring to help children discover their incredible value as God’s children
- Most important of all, your sponsored child will hear about Jesus Christ and be encouraged to develop a lifelong relationship with God.
