I am a new sponsor to a child that has been in the Compassion program for four years. Is there any possible way I could get jpegs of all of his pictures? I have an idea for a collage to make for him. Thank you!

Hello Russ! Welcome to the Compassion family. It is great to see you on this community page and I hope that you find the information and conversations on here very beneficial. As requested, email is on its way to you with a jpeg photo of Akou attached and further details about her family. She is the sweetest thing and I am excited that she is being sponsored by you! Because this young girl just recently entered Compassion's program in February of 2014, we only have one photo of her on file currently. Compassion receives formal updates on children from our country offices once every two years. We do not have additional photos of the families of our children. However, Compassion's policy says that any gifts you send to your child in the amount of $60 or more, you will not only receive the normal thank you letter required with all gifts; but you will also receive a photo of your child and the gift that was purchased. If you send a family gift of $60 or more, you can expect to receive a photo of the gift purchased, your child, as well as any family members that were present that day :).  Akou will also keep you current on events happening in her life and family through letter writing. You're also welcome to ask her any questions you may have! I pray that you build a strong bond with this child as you are truly making a lasting impact on her life!

My goodness! I've received a new correspondent child already! Clearly my fervent stalking of my account is paying off. 1) May I please have an electronic copy of Riki's photo and a bit about his Compassion history. 2) and I have a feeling I knwo the answer to this one but want to check...When I went to write him a letter, a different photo came up. I'm thinking maybe his photo recently got updated and the old one is loading on the letter while he new one in showing on his profile. That has happened wioth both my girls who were recently updated. I wanted to make sure, though, since I'm still unfamiliar with the boy.
Thanks!

Oh my gosh! That is exactly how I am. Never thought of it as stalking my account! But that is EXACTLY what I do, I dont know how many times I hit refresh during the day. I actually laughed pretty hard when I read your post, that is so how I am!

These kids are such a fun blessing, arent they?!?! I feel like I cannot get kiddos fast enough to write! And I am still waiting on return letters, but I have the Compassion FEVER!!!!

Oh, I am soooo bad with my account. I don't even know what I'm looking at half the time, but ti's apparently more mentally stimulating than sitting here doing my actual work all day. I almost always have both my account and this discussion board up in windows on my office computer and then have Facebook going on my phone where I frequently check the sponsor board.

Hey Lindsay! You both crack me up :). We always enjoy talking to you ladies throughout the week and I love seeing the new pictures of your correspondent children! These sweet pictures are such consistent reminders to me of the beautiful things God is doing in their lives.

Lindsay, I just sent you an email with two pictures of Riki and information on his history with our program :). I am betting that you just happened to see his older photo the first time you logged on and are now seeing his new photo. I reviewed his account and a new picture was taken of him and updated on his profile this month. If the picture you see on the website is different from the ones I just emailed you, please let me know.

Well... Like Lindsay I am dying for another correspondent kiddo! That refresh button is my best friend! I am wondering, how do I figure out how to pronounce my new guys name? I got him yesterday and I, umm, cannot figure out how to pronounce his name. I am sure is sounds really cool though! Do you guys have a phonetic spelling of it?

Thank you!

So...this is a terrible situation to investigate it in, but there was recently a Rwandan priest who was indicted on some pretty gnarly offenses whose last name is the same as your boys first name. There are a lot of videos on YouTube that say his name. I can't play them and type it out phonetically though because I'm in a conference at work...obviously working very hard.

Audrey, regrettably we don't have a program that shows us how the child's name should be pronounced. I really wish we did because we get those questions often since some of their names are pretty lengthy or difficult to pronounce. We are hoping to have this in the future though so fingers crossed and prayers are appreciated! :) I looked up the YouTube video that Lindsay mentioned though and after listening to it, I would say something like: Moon-ee-shee-i-ka. Hope this helps and thanks, Lindsay! :)

Lindsay, often times financial sponsor's find that they just do not have time or the desire to write to the child they support. When they find out that we have a correspondent program, they are relieved with this option because they want this child to be able to build a relationship with someone who has more time to invest in a letter relationship :). Thanks to you, Riki will have just that! This particular sponsor requests correspondents for all of her children now.

I saw her face and could NOT say no... I prayed for an hour or more, and her brief story, her face, everything was saying she needs to be a part of my family too. UG9360127, can I please get her sponsor history/gift/if you know anything about siblings (are any a part of the compassion program?), what happened to her parents? I am also anxiously awaiting another correspondent kiddo...

Can you by chance tell me what happened to Netsanets father? Or when he passed?

Thank you,
These children pull on heartstrings I really didnt know I had.

its so weird, and unplanned that all my girls are orphans, by one or both parents! God says to care for the widows and orphans, and He, and He alone, have given me these girls. I am abundantly blessed to get the correspondent kids as well. God has been working like crazy in my life, and i hope and pray that His love overflows through me and onto these children and their families. God has blessed me and has made me to do His will. I pray i am listening correctly.

God Bless You All!

Sigh...I can't even come up with any rationalization for the things I've gotten into on the Compassion WebSite this afternoon. May I please get jpegs and any history that may exist for Joseph and my new little one from Ethiopia? Thank you! Also, and unfortunately this in an actual question and not just me being smart alecky, is there a way to make it so I don't see my monthly $ total on my account summary? Probably not, but I'm avoiding that page like the plague. Go big or go home, right? ;)

If I had more money, I would have soooooooo many kids! How long have you been a sponsor? I feel like no one in my life really understands this passion i have to help these kiddos. But, God gave me this passion for a reason, so no matter the pressure I get from those around me, I have to listen to God, and help take care of His children like He has taken care of me, time and time again.

I've only been sponsoring since the beginning of spring. I had wanted to for a long time, but I'm leary of how a lot of sponsorship organizations seem to work, both in the field and monetarily. After doing a bunch of research I bit the bullet and started up. I, too, became very passionate about it and quickly began involving myself more and more with the organization. I reember you saying awhile back that you don't have Facebook so you missed my blowing up about people being more or less jerks about my involvement with the kids. I've opted to never have children of my own and am fortunate to have a job which allows me to afford my sponsorship "habit", so this program is a perfect fit for me.

Lindsay, your new Ethiopia girl is the sweetest thing! We only have one picture because she just started our program, but it's on the way to you!

Also, as of right now, there is not a way to hide your donation total on your account summary. I apologize for this inconvenience! But just look at it as how much God has blessed you and the fact that you have chosen to use it to change the lives of children ;). You and Audrey inspire me so much with your selflessness and generosity!

I love sharing about my girls because I was never able to have kids, the girls have become my focus. These lives need love and care and I praise God we get to be a part of them.

I'm presently stalking....I just happened to look at the kids from Guatamala and I went to click on this one girl and it immediately said someone else had sponsored her. Now I'm put out, even though I really have no business looking aroundon there anyway. Still, I'm going back and forth between the live sponsored feed and the website search.  I only have 45 minutes left at work so this behaviour loop can't last too much longer.

Hahahahaha!!!! Unfortunately I have a couple more hours until my hubby comes home and I put down my computer!

It is one of the biggest bummers when you click on a child and it says they are sponsored...

I wish I worked at least a little so I could support more kids, but my hubby says I am capped out, but I can write as man as I want... If I find a job working from home after this little guy is born, every penny is going to sponsor kids!

Emily, thank you. I write as a hobby. I am actually half way done with writing a novel. My mom is a published author so I am very proud to have gotten her gift! I would love to write for a living, its so fun. And when i get on a roll i can write thousands of words in a day. When I used to work, my co-workers always commented on how fast I would type when I got into a groove!

But I write whatever God inspires me to write. Poetry, short stories, realistic fiction, non fiction, inspirational...

Audrey, that is so neat that you are writing a novel. I am working on getting my first childrens story written and the books I write will be a series without following each other, they are all about the angels that help little lives when they need it most. I have been writing for years for my nieces just little stories and everyone tells me I have got to get them published so I am starting to write them longer with more detail and see if I can get them published. I am excited, a friend who is an author says they should do very well .. so here I go .. LOL

My advice is just don't give up! Sometimes editors are very picky, but keep submitting, and keep trying and pray and pray and pray. One day you will see your book on a shelf. My mom published her book 13 years ago and still to this day, if I see it on a shelf, I take a picture of it and send it to her.

I doubt I will ever publish my book. However, God might be inspiring me to start a new venture in writing.

I do not plan on giving up, my friend who started all of this had a heart attack and passed away a while back and I am going to publish my story and dedicate it to her because she believed in me and was sure we could get my books published. i have a lot of resolve for this, LOL .. that is one thing Kathleen taught me ..

Yay! I, too, was blessed today to find another correspondent had been assigned to me! An adorable little boy from Burkina Faso. I don't know if it's coincidental, but I seem to get a lot of correspondent kids from countries in which I don't financially sponsor. It's excellent becasue I get a huge cultural representation. Anyhow, rambling on...May I please have his picture and any history he may have? He's quite young so I'm thinking he may likely be new. Thanks!

I love having the kids from all over. I've spent a fair amount of time mentally going back and forth about whether I'd prefer concentrating my sponsorship in one area or going all around. I guess I did a little of each because I have 4 in Honduras and 3 in Bolivia...and I guess 3 in Indonesia, but different parts. The rest are pretty much all over. Since I sponsored my *SUPER CUTE* (for real...sooo cute) girl in Ethiopia yesterday and got little Aboubacar in Burkina faso today, I think I'm down to 9 countries not represented. I don't have DR, Guatamala, El Salvador, Mexico, Sri Lanka, Philippines, Thailand, Uganda, and Tanzania. So actually, that's still missing a lot.

Lindsey, I love having the kids for all over .. my heart has always been in Honduras since that is where my first sponsor child was from and I was intrigued by the country, All of my sponsored girls are from Honduras, but my correspondent sponsors are all over, I am trying for one from each country that compassion works in. I have two hours a day scheduled to write to my girls and I love making individual letters for them. The welcome letter is almost the same for each girl but then I work on trying to make it specific, at least once they start writing to me. LOL

I just noticed we have a new correspondent child. Could I please have the usual: jpeg pictures, letter history, gift history, sibling info and any other info you might have on our little Albert? Also, I know I had read somewhere on here about a closed group on Facebook for sponsors and correspondents. How do I join that group? Thanks so much for everything you guys do.

I am done, done, done!! I am FORBIDDEN from financially sponsoring any more unless 1)the little Mexican boy I had asked about ever gets dropped 2) my boy who was pulled from the program comes back, 3) my correspondents get dropped (God forbid), or 4) I get 2 raises (God, please...eventually, but not too "eventually")! So, now that that's out of the way, may I please have the digital pics of my 2 new girls from Guatamala?

I am at my limit right now, but if Jennifer gets dropped by her sponsor I will find a way to take her on, I am on disability so have a fixed income, but I can write to as many children as I can I have a two hour window a day set aside to write to kiddo's .. so bring on the correspondents .. LOL

I actually put "Other" for my reason for sponsoring because "Clearly having sanity issues" isn't an option. I did get the beautiful little girl I was so patiently (pfffft) looking for, though, and then another one who was my backup in case the first really had gotten sponsored.

And Audrey, if you bump into your keyboard and mouse just the right way, it's totally plausible that you could click all the way through by "accident". Then what's left to do? You can't just send them back!

LOL!!!! Thats how I ended up with one of my girls. When I finally got the "ok" from my husband to have a 2nd kid, the one I was going to sponsor was gone, the website said she wasnt found. So I thought God intended me to have this other one that continued to "pop" up. So I chose her, the next day, I had a feeling to go and look for the girl I originally intended to sponsor, and THERE SHE WAS! Didnt get hubbys permission for her, :-/ but luckily he didnt get mad. Then sponsorship #4, well if you saw her face, you would know why! Lol... now I am trying to um, "not" sponsor this other girl.... Yeah right, by the end of the night, I bet she is mine...

TracAn this particular little girl i now financially support. But, i have 10 correspondent kiddos, still waiting on a first letter from ANY of them lol but its so fun and exciting. Her name is Mamanye.

Lindsay, you're too funny. I inquired about her and another little girl yesterday afternoon, and once I heard both stories, I couldn't say no to her. But still "attempted" to not click"sponsor this child" even though I knew it was a losing battle with myself! *sigh* I need more income!

Oh, no worries about that! I'm glad she has a sponsor. I'm banning myself from looking at anymore. I already have some advocate material on the way and I'm scared enough that if I don't get them sponsored off, I'll end up picking them up. No more except correspondents!

Good morning Ladies! Sounds like you had quite a busy weekend :). Thank you for your passion!

Audrey, I am so excited that you got your very first letter! Audrey, because you sponsored a child at the very start of the weekend, it is possible that she has just not been placed onto your account yet. It is still early and employees are just coming into the office to process requests from the weekend. Can you please give me her child ID number so that I can look her up? Because you received a confirmation email, you shouldn't need to be worried and can likely expect to see her on your account later today! But I want to get an email sent out to you with her information :).

You make me laugh, Audrey! :) By the way, thank you SO much for sponsoring Mamanye! She has been waiting for a sponsor since the beginning of the year so you are truly giving her the best Christmas present! I have sent an email to you with all of her information and two pictures.

Regrettably, for some odd reason the website did not fully process your request to sponsor her. I am so sorry for the worry this caused you. I just removed her from the website and you can expect to see her on your account shortly because I just processed your request for you on our end! If you set up any payment information through the website when you sponsored her, it did not go through. So I would encourage you to go onto your My Account to set your donations up once more. If you would like her set up on the same card as your other children, let me know and I can process for you. Thank you so much for your patience as I know you're excited :).

Lol... Patience????? I hardly say I had patience ... I think I checked my account for her every hour this weekend? And looked her up on the website as many ways as possible lol But I knew I had to wait for you all to return to work.

Its funny you say that this is going to be her best Christmas present, but thses kids are my best present. I saw her, and fell in love. I know mamanye has a brother in the program, is he sponsored as well? Is it possible to get his picture/age etc?

Thank you for putting up with me... Idk what I would do without you and Susan!

Okay, wonderful. Yes, I got your email, thank you for that. And I am so happy to hear her brother is being sponsored.

Although, can you please explain what type of circumstances would lead to 2 children being sponsored in 1 family? Either you or Susan told me that its not common.

Audrey, It is rare for more than one child to be registered in the program within one family. When we see more than one child who is registered, it is normally because the family is very needy and needs the additional assistance.

Lindsay, yes, we can add a note to notify you if a child is ever dropped. Just let us know the child number and we'll add the note. :)

Can someone please look into this, and then also email me all her information that I bug you all about every week for each new kiddo :-) thank you! You guys are wonderful!

Hello, I am not an employee but I can help you with sending "packages". You cannot send anything that isnt paper. So I send my kids sections of books, coloring pages, stickers, re-usable stickers etc. You CAN laminate, and staples are OK. Here is link to the Compassion website about what you can and cannot send, and the specifications of size.

Hope this helps!

Thank you! So I can send up to 8 1/2 by 11" envelopes? I will have to start looking for things that fit in them. :) Would cardboard puzzles would be ok? I'm new to this so any suggestions would be awesome. :)

You will need to buy 9x12 envelopes, but just make sure everything you send is 8 1/2x 11.

Yes you can send puzzles, but they need to be assembled (I have never sent a puzzle). You can place them in Ziploc bags as well.

There is a facebook group that you can request to be added to. I do not personally have facebook so I have not been on it. I am sure someone else here can tell you. There are also Pinterest groups for compassion with ideas to send to your kids.

If you have more than one child, you can put all the 9x12 envelopes into a flat rate mailer to save on shipping. And you send it to the same place you send letters.

I have quite a few kids, so I label each 9x12 envelope with their name/child ID/sponsor # on both sides and put them all in the same mailer to send to Compassion.

Just make sure everything you send has name/child ID/sponsor # on it so if anything falls out Compassion doesnt have to spend a lot of time searching for whom it belongs.

I am currently cutting apart books to send. I am kind of making my own book for them. Because it has to be translated I do one piece of construction paper, one book page and back and forth and staple it together. That way my kids see each page in English, and then the handwritten translation next to it. if I can I will attach a picture.

Thanks so much! That helped a lot. I would love to be added to the Facebook group if you have any info or a contact person on it?

The book is really neat! I love that idea. I assume they translate it for you? My Maria is only 5 so she would need easier books but I never would have thought of that. I will have to remember to try it at some point! How thick can it be without having mailing problems?

One of my girls is 12 days younger than my oldest daughter. So my daughter has "claimed" her as the girl she sponsors and my daughter colors her pictures, we laminated leaves and flower petals, send stickers, blank construction paper, and parts of books that my daughter likes.

I have also copied books (instead of cutting them apart). But the devotions I wanted to send each child their own "copy" of the book so I bought multiples.

So no more than 1/4" thick. I bought a cheap clear ruler to make sure I was in the correct dimensions.

Do you use Amazon? I search "gifts for 5 year old girl" and see what pops up! Then if I think it will work, I order it and cut it apart and mail it!

I have also gotten my girls paper dolls, it is more times consuming if you buy the ones that you have to cut out each doll. But there are many that have perforations. These i send in a plastic bag so all the pieces stay together.

These are punch out dolls...

Also a popular thing to send is Melissa and Doug products. I love the resuable stickers and sticker pads. You do have to fold them, and cut the stickers out into smaller sheets to fit the guidelines, but its a lot of fun!

That's so sweet! I have two sisters around her age as well so I should have plenty of help picking fun items. :) I will have to look around and see if I could maybe even find a Spanish book to cut apart and send.
I do a lot of shopping on amazon. I'll look around and see what I can find. Lots of fun ideas now! Thanks. :)
I bet maybe the Melissa and Doug removable sticker scenes could be fun too. I bet you could fold them in half and they would fit. I guess I will play around with all of it and see what I can send and what I can't. :)

The Melissa and Doug stickers, I fold in 3rds so I dont put a big crease right down the center of one of the characters.

Hahahaha! No... Lindsay and I do it too! I was actually thinking, the boards are a little slow this morning!

I am currently sitting here trying to figure out how much I should send each kid. I want to do at least a yearly gift to the family, and I don't want to send too much, or too little, or something...

Also, can I just email about making these monetary gifts to each child, including one of my correspondent kids? Online, it doesn't offer the amounts I was thinking of sending in the drop down boxes.

I'm off work today for the holiday so I'm not glued to my computer as usual. Instead I'm taking the time to aimlessly wander around my house while overly snacking. Ahhhh, productivity! I did get all this months kids packs finished up and ready to mail out, though!

Oh, and about the monetary gifts...Yes, you can just call and tell them how much for each kid. I've emailed, too, but it hasn't exactly been successful. You have to contact them anyway for the correspondents because, as I'm sure you've seen, you can't send them money online.

I am a stay at home mom, so I am constantly checking. But, I am not wondering aimlessly, I am trying to get my toddler to take a nap, which she is graciously refusing to do!

I wish I had my kids stuff ready to mail. I have 2 more letters to hand write and I ordered the teen version of Jesus Calling for one of my correspondent kids since shes older, so I am waiting for that to show up, then I have to make that into a book. But, time is ticking because another one of my girls' birthday is in January so I am hoping what I send gets to her in time, I just dont want to mail multiple packets so I can save on postage.

Lindsay, how do you decide to send monetary gifts, how much/when/etc? I am very perplexed by this.

Glad I'm not the only one! :)
I'm just starting out so my goal for tonight after I get home is to write my first letter to my kiddo. Super excited! Just out of curiosity, how often do y'all write your kiddos?

Kate - I write every 2 weeks or so. I am new to this too, but from what I have read, the more you write, the more letters you get back. And not to mention, who doesnt like getting mail?? (Not talking about bills lol).

That's kinda what I was thinking was every 2-3 weeks. But I didn't know if there was such a thing as being a little too much. ;) do you actually get more than the 3 letters a year the website says?
Lol! Yes!! Any mail but bills is super fun!

Do you usually plan about 3 months ahead as far as delivery time? My littles bday is in February and I'm trying to decide how far ahead to plan on that one.

I havent been a sponsor long enough to know! But, the minimum your child is required to write is 3 per year. But the sponsors who write a lot get up to 6 letters a year.

Yes plan 2-3 months out. I will say, it was really odd writing Christmas greetings in October, but hey, that was when they needed to be mailed to get to our kids by Christmas.

You will get a notification on your account 3 months before your childs birthday, reminding you to send a gift if you want. My girls birthday is January 19, so it is suggested to have gifts out no later than November 19th. So 2 months, and that was what was requested by Compassion for Christmas fund donations.

Oh, not at all! I can go on and on about anything ;) I gave the monetary question a lot of thought a few months ago and what I decided on was that it really depended on the child and their situation. Initially I wanted to give all the kids $60 so I can get the photos. That's what I give most of them for their birthdays, too. However, if a kid comes from a community where the average monthly income is something like $8, I'm not doing it. I think I gave anyone who had an average income of less than $30 a $40 gift, but I might even go lower for the *very* low income ones. The way I figure it, though, is that the ones who have such a low income don't necessarily live in super cheap areas and a lot of the money can go for food and other needs that will ultimately help the entire family. If that's the case, I don't send a family gift, too. Over the holidays I opted to not send family gifts because I didn't want to flood them with money, even though the child gift was a much lower percentage of the average income. I think I'll randomly pick families to send a gift to throughout the year, probably around $100 for those in higher income areas, and probably around $60 or less even for those with really, really low incomes. Even if it's way more $ than they're used to, when they have nothing there's plenty to spend it on and so long as I'm not sending gifts too regularly, it's not putting them in a position to become reliant on the gift funds.

Kate, regarding the 2-3 months yes, exactly what Audrey said. Another thing to keep in mind is that the funds don't go out right when you send them but towards the end of the month all the monetary gifts go out in a chunk. With that as it is, you don't gave to get it in 2-3 months prior to the birthday or whatever, just before the 25th of the month.

Thank you, that helps me a lot. I can't afford much, but I wanted to kind of do like a "heres a boost into the new year", and possibly only give family gifts once a year, and smaller child gifts on their birthdays, and christmas.

One of my girls is very young, but she is one of 7, and lives with her grandmother, while the mother is possibly away working. All of my kids only have 1 or no living parents. So that is something I want to take into consideration, like, if I send $60 its supplying money for a family of 8!!!! Can you imagine that here in the United States?!?!? Its just baffling!

Kate and Lindsay, i did not know about the 25th of the month! That makes me feel a little better! I will wait a little longer to send monetary gifts then!

Emily or Susan - If I do a gift under "Birthday" will they hold it until the month of the childs birthday or will it just go out to the child following month, whether or not its their birthday?

It's insane. I'm lucky if I get out of Starbucks paying less than what at least 2 of my kids families make in a month, but I guess a little can go a much longer way if you live in a society where you can trade and also so many of mine grow their food. Getting farther on less on not, it's not enough to go anywhere in life and not enough to be healthy.

Lindsay you are just a wealth of information! THank you!

Did your kids tell you that they grow their own food? Like I said before, I have only gotten one introduction letter thus far. So I am sooooooooooo anxious to get any letters! Every time I eat now, I pray for my kids that they at least got one meal that day. And thank God that I get regular meals without wondering where it is going to come from.

The intro letter I got, my girl wants to be a doctor :-) I want to support and encourage her dream in any and every way I can!!!!!! Her prayer request broke my heart she asked me to pray that "her future life would be good"... My first question was, "whats not good right now? I wish I could just call her and talk"

No, I haven't been told by any of them that their families grow their food, but based on the occupations of some of the parents (a LOT of farmers) and vendor counterparts, I'm guessing that a lot of them who can't afford to go out and buy food for their families take it from their own crops and sell the rest at market. It certainly is still a concern that there's not enough food to go around even if they do have crops because the crops are limited, subject to drought, etc, and are needed to sell/trade for other needs. I know all of them get food from their projects, but I also know that a lot of mine only go to their project one day a week. In the end, I just have to have faith that they'll all pull through. I'm really looking forward to touring projects in June. A few of my recent letters have detailed some of their field trips and they sound wonderful.

Audrey, yes, you are welcome to email us (ciinfo@compassion.com or socialmedia@compassion.com) when you would like to give a gift to a correspondent or if the amount you would like to give is not in the drop-down menu on the website. Because it is not secure to send payment information via email, we would need to already have a credit or debit card on file for you. Also, please keep in mind that we can send $10 to $100 two times a year in Child or Birthday Gifts and $25 to $1000 per year in Family Gifts.

Audrey, yes...At least with some of them at this point. I have a few who just fill out the form letters or ask very generic things, but I'm still new to them so who knows how those letters will change. Others, like my little girl in Haiti, write such sweet letters that are very personal. It's always a surprise how things will turn out. My one correspondent has always struck me as looking unhappy and not...I don't even know what the word is I'm looking for. Unengaged? Anyway, I got a beautifully written letter from her last week talking about Indian poets and asking after my mothers health. It was incredibly personal and it totally changed my perception of her.

Audrey, you are welcome! It is based on a calendar year - from January to December. Also, we will send your gifts the next time we are sending the monthly support. Regrettably, we cannot hold a gift until a child's birthday.

Lindsay, you are correct that wire transfers to our Country Offices are done during the last week of each month. However, it usually takes two to three months for the gift to be delivered. It's not bad if a gift is late though. Your gift will still mean a whole lot to your sponsored child.
Here is an example of how things currently work: (longest case scenario)

1) Sponsor gives a gift on May 1
2) Compassion closes month end (May) out, usually, the first weekend of the following month (June 7)
3) We send the gift list to the country office with all of the details of the gift (who it's for, amount, special instructions, etc.). This is typically within the 3rd week of the month (June 17).
4) We wire the May funds during the last week of the month (6/23-6/27).
5) The Country Office receives the funds.
6) The Country Office sends the funds (support/gifts) to the centers (it could take up to two weeks) in mid July.
7) The center distributes the gifts by the end of the month of July.

Lindsey where are you going for your sponsor tour?? You said June and I know that Honduras is June this year. Nana and I were able to go and meet our sponsored kiddo's and one of my correspondent children and two of my friends kids. So I had six kiddos to visit on 'fun day' and it was amazing ..

Hello and good snowy morning Susan and Emily! I pray your drive to work was safe! I was wondering where I fall on the list to get more correspondent kids, and if you could add me back to the list for another 5 kids?

Also, I was wonder about one of my kids Evance Odour KE8130292, does he have any siblings? And what is his history with compassion?

Thank you!

Hi Audrey! Yes, it is a snowy and COLD day where we are today! I imagine it is pretty snowy where you are too. Hopefully, you don't have to go out today and can stay home and warm with the kiddos!

You are at about 70 on a list of 112 correspondent requests right now. I just added a few more requests, per your request. I'm sending you an email about Evance. :)
