The birthday on the account is different then the birthday they wrote in the first letter. The card said May 2014 and the letter said August 2016. Just wondering which is correct.
Hi Amanda! Thank you for contacting us about Melody's birthday. This is actually a fairly common occurrence. In many cultures, actual birth dates are not considered to be of great significance. A mother and father may not know exactly what day their child was born, and on the day your child was registered with Compassion, the project staff may not have had a birth certificate to go by and the day of birth was a "best guess" by the parent. I have sent an inquiry to Melody's center, requesting that they verify which date is her actual birth date! When we hear back from them, we will reach out to you and let you know what they say. :)
