Hi, I am seeing from this post: (https://support.compassion.com/compassion/topics/is-it-possible-to-receive-the-jpeg-of-my-sponsor-ch...) that a lot of sponsors would like their child's picture in better quality sent to them by email. I too, would like a better picture of my sponsored child than the one in my account.

Instead of sending them out one by one by the staff, will it be possible that we get a link or something in our accounts so that we can view and download a better picture without asking? I think it will save up a lot of extra work on the staffs.

Also, I noticed that Compassion updates a sponsored child's information and photo once every two years. Especially for sponsors who are sponsoring younger children, the growth of a child in two years can be very big. I was wondering if that can be adjusted to once a year? I am sure we sponsors all want to see our sponsored child grow! :)

Just some random ideas.

Adri, I think it would be a wonderful idea if sponsors could download a child's photo without having to make a special request! I hope that Compassion will implement this idea.

I wish I could use the app, but I have too many children and it won't load. Finally had to give up on it.

Compassion usually sends a copy of every official picture they have of the child when they email you if you are a new Sponsor/Corespondent to the child. I like seeing how the child has grown.

Garry, is the app not working at all for you right now or are you just talking about the photo download? Have you tried to re-install our most updated version recently?

I don't have it now. I had it a few months ago, it didn't work at all. When I asked for help from support, they were not much help. They just said, "Make sure you have the latest version and the latest Android OS." I had just downloaded the app, so I will assume it was the latest version. And my OS on my phone was up to date. Since it didn't seem they wanted to bother with me, I just deleted it.

Garry, I'm sorry if you didn't feel like we wanted to bother you. I encourage you this was certainly not the case as we created this app for the convenience and enjoyment of our sponsors and certainly want you to be able to use it and benefit from it.

The reason we always first ask sponsors what version you have is because there in the beginning, we were updating our app very frequently and so if a supporter had an old version, this would likely cause issues with the app as our newer versions were correcting bugs and glitches. We can't go further in our troubleshooting without first getting information from you about your OS version, app version, the type of mobile device you're using, and if you've tried simple troubleshooting options such as restarting your phone, clearing your cache, etc. The reason is because these troubleshooting options have fixed many issues for sponsors and no further troubleshooting is needed. But in order to troubleshoot further, this information is necessary to have for our mobile app team.

I encourage you to try again. I'm hoping you won't have any trouble :). But if you do, rest assured our team does want to help you with these issues. Let me know if you do try it again and aren't able to use it.

Finally got the app installed, and it indeed has the download child picture function. However, the picture is 427 x 640, while the one I received by email is 800 x 1200, so it is still better to have it send out to us by Compassion staff.

Hi Adriana!

I am sending you an email now with sweet Cyrus's photo in the high quality jpeg. Like Kristen mentioned, you're actually able to download your child's photo on the mobile app! I encourage you to try it! You can learn more about our mobile app, here.  But please know we're always happy to email you the jpeg photo of your kiddo as well.

Regrettably, we don't currently have the ability to update photos every year but it may be a possibility in the future as we're currently upgrading our systems. Thank you for the idea, though as it's something we've heard from sponsors before and have already passed on up for our sponsors :). We understand that these kiddos grow so fast and I know you must be eager to see more frequent updates of Cyrus! I want to also mention just for future reference that if you send a gift of $60 or more to your kiddo, you'll receive a photo of the gift when they send a thank you letter, and most often, your sweet kiddo is also in the picture with the gift :).

Thanks for the great ideas and for caring so deeply for Cyrus! We're excited to have you as part of the Compassion family!

Emily,

Could I also receive an email with a high quality jpeg of my sponsored child? Last year I received updated copies of her picture in the mail from Compassion and I was so excited. I even brought one to work and am looking at it right now! However, this year I did not receive new photos. She does have an updated picture on my profile though so I know one is available.

How long does it typically take to receive a thank you letter and photo when you send a family gift >$60? I sent one in April and am anxiously waiting to hear from her. I assumed it would take time both going and coming I just didn't know when to expect it.

Thank you so much!

Hi Angela! I will send Bella's photo to you right away :). It can take up to six months for sponsors to hear back regarding their financial gifts to their children, so you should hear from Bella regarding that generous family gift around October. If you don't hear from her by October 22, please let us know and we can send an inquiry for you at that time.

Hi Sarah! You will never believe what I received in the mail today. My new pictures of Bella! She's getting so tall. I can't wait to bring my new picture to put on my desk tomorrow.

Thank you for the information regarding pictures with them with the family gift. I'm just overly anxious. October will be such a great month!

Thanks again!

Hi Emily, thanks for your reply! I wonder if you have sent me the picture yet because I haven't got it :( if you have, can you please send again? Thanks!

Oh, and one more thing. I sponsored another child just last night and I wonder if he will be added to my account? I think I was logged in when I checkout but I am not 100% sure. And typically how long will it takes to have the new boy appear in my account after I checkout?

Hi Adri! I did send it to you but I resent it again. I don't see your new child on your account yet but it can take 24-48 hours for your sponsorship to process after you sponsor through the web :). So you should be able to see your kiddo on there soon. Thank you so very much for choosing to invest in another child's life!
