Good Morning,
I am a sponser of Dania Joseph, (HA2660326) and I have a question. I noticed that she will be turning 20 years old next month. How long do I need to continue my financial support of her? Will my financial support end soon?
Thank you,
Kevin Phillips

Hi Kevin, in my experience you should be able to go onto your Compassion account and find this info there. Under Child Information there will be a completion date, listed like this: 20131201 which would be 12/1/2013 (this is just an example) If you're unable to locate this on your child's info you can call or email compassion and they can give you this info. ciinfo@ci.us.org or 800-336-7676

I just want to note that I was told that date is an estimate only. Be careful trying to plan by it! Your child could graduate before, or even after that date, sometimes by quite a few months. I would say the best thing you could do would be to call compassion, if you really need to know when your child is most likely to leave the program.

So you know, the date we have is an estimate as well. It's the same date you can view on your account. :)

This completion date is under schooling. Is their program completion date linked to their schooling? I was told that 20 is the age for India, but I see his schooling completion date is when he will be 21.

Some of the maximum completion ages have actually changed recently. Here are the current maximum completion ages:

Ethiopia 22
Kenya 22

Rwanda 22

Tanzania 22
Uganda 22
Burkina Faso 22
Ghana 22
Togo 22
Bangladesh 22
East India 22
East Indonesia 22
Indonesia 22
Philippines 22
India 22
Sri Lanka 22
Thailand 22
Dominican Republic 20
El Salvador 22
Guatemala 18
Haiti 20
Honduras 18
Nicaragua 18
Bolivia 22
Brazil 20
Colombia 18
Ecuador 20
Mexico 18
Peru 18

India's maximum completion age has moved to 22 years of age. However, your child is anticipated to complete the program around June of 2014 when he will be 21. The completion date isn't always related to their schooling.
Children may or may not choose to stay in the program until they reach the maximum completion age. Some children are ready to leave after their high school graduation. Others decide to stay for extra vocational training. Once your child reaches their final planned year in the program, we will send you reminders and information so that you may prepare to say goodbye.
