Hi there! We purchased chickens for $50 for our sponsored child for Christmas. When I checked the app today, it still says one gift purchased for the year which would’ve been her birthday. When I looked at our giving statement, the Christmas gift was on there but it didn’t have her name beside it. Is the gift going to her or is it going to another child in need? Thanks!

Gifts from the Christmas catalog do not go to your sponsored child.  You can give a child or family gift to your child and suggest what they buy, but they will choose what to buy with the money at the project level, while talking to your child's family.

Gotcha! No problem! I will make a child/family gift donation for our child, too. Thank you!

Sarah, thanks so much for your assistance in answering Jeni's question!

Jeni, we so appreciate your generosity in giving chickens and a Christmas gift this holiday season! :) I looked up your account, and was able to confirm that you gave $50 towards chickens in the gift catalog (which, as Sarah explained, does not go directly to your child), as well as $50 to the Christmas fund. I would like to clarify the Christmas fund, as well. Whenever you give to this fund, your gift is pooled in with other Christmas donations that have been given and is distributed evenly among every child in Compassion's program. That means your child will receive a gift from this fund, but she will not receive the full amount that you gave, and the gift itself will not show on the app. If you want a gift to go directly to your child, it needs to be designated as a family or child gift. Regardless, she will be so excited to receive a Christmas gift, and she will be told the gift is from you. If you would like any further assistance, please don't hesitate to let us know! :)
