I would like to purchase several gifts (in lieu of traditional gifts), each in the name of my family members. I'd like this to be a blessing to both those in need and a way to encourage my family & friends to continue supporting Compassion. Is there someway I can achieve this? I'd like to give them a card expressing the gift I purchased in their names. And will I need to make a separate purchase for each gift?

Lori,

You can go to http://www.compassion.com/catalog.htm.  Compassion has a variety of ways you can donate money to be used to help those in the program here.  I did this once for my niece's birthday.  Since she loves babies, I chose to donate some money towards helping to feed a newborn baby.  I liked the fact I could personalize the gift somewhat in that way for her, because it clearly made an impact on her.

They let you print out cards when you donate.  I had some trouble getting mine to print at the time, but Compassion was very helpful at getting that resolved.  And it was a couple years ago, so hopefully that problem is resolved now.

Hi Lori! Thank you so much for wanting to bless your family with this honor and families all over the world! Jamie's suggestion is exactly what I would have said as well. I do want to mention that you can purchase the gifts together and still have the opportunity to individualize each of your cards. Once you complete your purchase, you'll be directed to our honor card website where you will be able to choose between sending a e-card, printing your own cards at home, or having Compassion print the cards and mail them to you or the recipient. The site is a really great tool to use and allows you to customize almost every small detail on the cards :)!
