I think it would be cool if you guys created a Compassion cookbook. It could have recipes from all over the world and pages tellling stories of kids from those regions whose lives have been changed. Proceeds could go toward compassion's work. I would love to purchase something like this!
In the mean time, have you looked at the recipes in the Compassion Explorer children's magazine? I recently hosted a dinner party for people from my Bible study, and served West African Peanut Soup and Tanzanian Coconut Rice, and they were a big hit. The link to the Tanzanian Coconut Rice is: https://www.compassion.com/kids-magazine/coconut-rice.htm. From there you can see a bunch of other recipes from Compassion countries in the bar on the left.
Hi Rebekah! I will absolutely pass this idea on to the right department :). I agree with everyone else that you should check out all the recipes in the Compassion Explorer magazine too; they are delicious and so much fun to make!
Wow! What an incredible idea Rebekah! I would totally buy these and gift them to people! Especially if we could get authentic recipes.... like given to us by maybe the parents of the sponsored kids, or the staff working at the compassion projects. One of our sponsored kids is in Burkina Faso and when you google recipes.... there aren't very many which makes you think they are not authentic. Hope you guys do this! Or what about Compassion International Christmas cards.... like what Unicef has?
