We heard that Compassion lost the ability to send funds from the US to India, the country where our sponsored child is living. Can you confirm this situation and if the gifts we give are reaching Kajal? We are aware of the current challenges that many Christian organizations are facing in India and want to clarify the current status of Compassion's registration in India. Thanks for your help.

Keith, our offices in India have been under governmental scrutiny in recent years. Until now, we have received favorable assessments of our organization and have been allowed to continue our work. God has allowed almost 200,000 children, including your sponsored child Kajal, to continue attending their student centers and to be known, loved and protected. We have not lost the ability to send funds to India. Do you mind my asking where you heard that we had?

Will we all be getting letters in the mail explaining the situation in India? I saw on the Facebook page that some people had gotten letters but so far or family has not. If this isn't something that I'll be getting in the mail, could someone email me regarding our child in east India?

Hi Rachel! It looks like your kiddo in East India is a correspondent child so you won't get the letter in the mail. I'm going to email you right now with the information.

My India kid is 'only' a correspondence kid, and I got a letter.
