Hello - can you please tell me what 2 children we are currently sponsoring? We received a notice that one of the children dropped of the program but I believe I just received a letter from him. I also have concerns because you gave us another child that we did not request.

Donna, I'm another sponsor like you but hopefully I can shed some light on the situation. A Compassion rep will be able to help you after the weekend though!
If you received a letter after your child left the program, it was probably already in the translation process when he left and Compassion forwarded it on to you so that you had it.
When a child leaves the program a new child is sent for the sponsor to consider with instructions to contact them within five weeks if you do not want to sponsor this new child. If you do not want to sponsor the new child, or want to pick your own child to sponsor, Compassion can help you with this after the weekend.

Good morning Donna,
I am so sorry for the confusion! I do see that in April, your child Jesus in Mexico did finish his time with Compassion. As Kristen mentioned, the letter that you recently received was one that was already in progress. Secondly, anytime a child leaves the program, we do place another child on hold for your to consider. At the same time that you received notification that Jesus was leaving the program, you should have also received notice of this child on hold. Because roughly 80% of our sponsors do go on to sponsor another child, for your convenience, the letter states that if we simply do not hear anything in the next five weeks, that this child will be added to your account. Since we did not hear from you, we did place a new child on your account by the name of Berlann. She is eight years old and lives in Haiti. You are also still sponsoring Maria.
I am so sorry for the miscommunication! If you would like us to remove Berlann from your account, please do let us know and we will happy to fulfill your request. We look forward to hearing from you!
