I received an email from compassion and I'm confused by it. The email says: "Currently, you send in sponsorship payments manually every month. Would you be willing to have your sponsorship payments made electronically using your debit or credit card instead?" ...i'm confused because that's exactly how I've done it. I have NOT sent any cash or check. ..but, I'm trying to send funds yearly instead of monthly, and would like automatic withdraw removed if its activated. is there a way to do this? thanks.

50places, I sincerely apologize for the confusion in the email you received. You are correct that we haven't received cash or checks from you for the sponsorships. What Compassion means by an "automatic withdrawal" is one that is given using a credit/ debit card or a bank account on a monthly basis. The reason we send these emails is because the fee to withdrawal from bank accounts and cards is much less than it is when sponsors send in checks or give through bill pay with their bank. Paypal as well charges a higher fee. However, if you are sending just one donation on an annual basis, you are still helping Compassion be able to save money! We take financial integrity seriously; the more money we can save on fees like these, the more we are able to send to the children in our program. You do not have an automatic withdrawal activated on your account right now, and I want to encourage you that you are giving in a wonderful way already. Please disregard the email and enjoy your sweet children!
