My correspondent child left Compassion because he moved. If his financial sponsor chooses to sponsor another child in his place and requests a correspondent sponsor, will I automatically be assigned that child or do I need to request to be put on the correspondent child waiting list? I don’t want to accidentally end up with two new correspondent children when I only want one.

Hello Erin!

Yes, if the financial sponsor decides to sponsor another child in their place, you will automatically be assigned to write to that child. We will know at least by March 28, maybe even before, if they want to sponsor this child. If they do not want to sponsor this child, we will add you to the correspondent list at that time. If you have any other questions, please let us know and we will be happy to assist you! :)

You are very welcome Erin! If you do not see a new kiddo by March 28th, please contact us at that time and we can see if the supporter chose to decline a new sponsorship. We can than add your new request to the wait list, as this will not happen automatically. :)

Hi, can you actually just add me to the list for a general request now? I’m too impatient. Thanks :)

Hi, I received my new correspondent child Reynardo Feliz (DR016001302). Could you please tell me if his financial sponsor sent him a birthday gift this year? Also, it says he was last sent a letter on 12/13/2017. His financial sponsor definitely wants a correspondent for him, right?

The "Last sent a letter" could also be the date the child last sent a letter -- they have to send two letters even if no one writes to them!

Hi Erin!
Congratulations on your new correspondent, Reynardo! I see that he has actually never received a gift from his sponsor and that your two letters are actually his very first he has ever received so the date you were seeing that a letter was last written was to his sponsor from him. I cannot imagine how blessed he will feel to be loved and encouraged by you!:)
