I recently started a correspondence sponsoring and I wrote my child his first letter he wrote back, thinking I was the financial sponsor and I have received a second letter from him and he still thinks I am his financial sponsor.

I thought this would have been explained already to him when he was first told he was sponsored so my question is How do I tell him I am just going to be writing him letters.

I was going to write him and tell him that someone else actually gives him the money part and I was the letter writing part but my job was also to pray for his sponsor (who I don't know) and for him and his family and any prayer needs he has and obviously to communicate with him and hopefully help uplift him. I just want to make sure I explain this correctly and I want to give credit where credit is due to the financial sponsor! :) Thank you!

Hey Tonya! The way you described the relationship is correct. It's best to explain it in the most frank terms possible in order to ensure the best translation and avoid confusion. The project staff know how this works, so they can help explain as well.
