I am wondering if requesting the original letters written by my sponsored children costs Compassion substantially more than requesting printed copies of the letters. I like the thought of having the actual letters but I don't want it to cause Compassion to sacrifice funds that could be being used to help children instead. I just wasted sure if mailing the original letters was more or less expensive than Compassion printing and mailing the scanned copies.

Hi Kayla! I appreciate you asking this question! Yes, requesting the original letters does cost Compassion substantially more than the printed copies of the letters. This is why we moved to scanning and sending the majority of the letters digitally in the first place. Even the cost of printing them on either end is cheaper than mailing letters internationally. Thank you for your understanding!

And printing the scanned letters ourselves (if one has a decent color printer) is (hopefully) saving Compassion a few more dollars that can go towards all those precious little ones and their families.
