Could there be a Category for Church Engagement here where pastors or church leaders could ask questions about partnership with Compassion?

Is there any chance we can create a Category for Church Engagement here where pastors or church leaders could ask questions related to developing a partnership with Compassion. I see this a separate "Category". I also would like to know if there is interest among pastors and leadership for this.

I became an advocate specifically as a way to help our church do this. I am a full time staff member of our church, and encouraging sponsorship was one of my goals. I am really interested in the church engagement process, but most of what I ended up doing I had to do myself. I can think of a lot of resources that Compassion could provide for churches-- and have had discussions about this with church staff all over the country. I had to create them from scratch myself for our church! You may have to do the same, Richard. (This isn't a complaint about Compassion, by the way, just a comment that I'd like them to develop a church liaison program!)

Hi Richard! This is a really great idea! I will certainly mention this to our Church Engagement department (Yes, we have a Church Engagement department. Compassion is very focused on the local church so building relationships with local pastors and churches aligns well with our mission. :) ) and I will let you know what comes of this! Thank you so much for sharing!

That would be terrific! My sponsor # is US3285240. That should give you my email without me publishing it here. :) Thanks Susan!

Melanie, I have great new for you!  Compassion has a new pilot just started this last summer that I am participating in.  That is why I would like to see this added to this venue so that we can hear from Pastors and lay leaders of the church. There are about 50 of us participating in this role as Church Partnership Representatives (CPR) serving the churches roughly in the 150-800 size range. Our desire is to connect with church leaders just like you who have a passion to not only see children sponsored but to come along side you and provide resources that will help grow the Bride of Christ in your church.  Compassion also has a program that address the needs of the churches in the 800+ range that is more developed. There is a good chance there is a representative that could also help you and I would also be glad to dialogue with you.  I am located in Virginia but the CPRs are spread across the US and there may be someone closer to you.  Susan, feel free to send Melanie my church.compassion email address. My advocate number is AV4687.  Doug West is the Church Relationship Manager leading CPR initiative.

Richard, I apologize as I had no idea that you were a part of the CPR pilot. I am so sorry for the confusion that I may have caused in my original post.

This support community was designed for customer service and feedback. Our heart is to see sponsors help each other within the community but Emily and I will also step in and provide assistance as employees of Compassion. The majority of interactions within this community are question and answer regarding basic sponsorship topics.

Please help me to understand a little more of what your goals are with being involved in this community and I would be happy to provide any assistance that I can. It may work out well to have pastors or church leaders post questions here and anyone within the community can provide assistance as needed. If you would like to email me to discuss this further, my email is socialmedia@compassion.com

I have reached out to Church Relations and the Advocates Network to see if we can service you all through this page in a way that makes sense for this page and for this new program. If you have any other ideas or comments in this regard I am all ears.

And thank you too Susan. :)
