Hello! I sent a monetary bday gift of $60 to one of my sponsor kids, Obse (ET-385-0172) and she sent me a letter on 3/28 thanking me for my gift and told me that she was able to get new clothes and shoes with the money that I sent her. However, I was expecting and very excited to also be receiving a photo of her with the newly purchased items. That is why I chose this specific amount because I knew you received a photo of them with this amount (as I would really love to receive a new updated picture of her, and also to see what items were picked out with my money). Can you inquire about this missing photo for me please (sponsor #07300510)? Thank you so much! I really appreciate it!!!

Trina, someone from Compassion should be able to help you after the weekend! So sorry your photo didn't show up with your letter.

Good morning Trina! I am so sorry to hear that you did not receive this photo with your letter! I know this can be a huge bummer when the picture is missed! I have sent an inquiry as requested. Please know that we will get this to you as soon as possible!

I really appreciate you checking in with me about this!! I still unfortunately have not received a picture of Obse with the gifts she got with my money, nor have I received one from Charity or Grace, who I also sent $60 to for their bdays. I at least got a written acknowledgment of the gift from Obse and was told what she got with the money (just no picture

Trina, I am emailing the photo we received of Obse with the clothes on that she purchased because of your sweet gift :). I am so sorry that you didn't receive the photo when the inquiry was complete! Also, have we sent inquiries for Charity or Grace yet if it's been over six months since you sent their gifts?

Hi Trina,

I would follow up again, because in my experience with the 3 gifts I have sent last year...... each over 60 dollars, I would have to follow up with customer service after 6 months of not receiving anything and then the letter would arrive with what they bought and the photo within 6-8 weeks.

This is tedious Compassion International and frustrating!

 It feels like:
1) The gift is not actually dispersed until the sponsor follows up and if the sponsor does not follow up the gift is not given to the child or their family.

Hello - I sent a birthday gift over $60.00 last May to Jonathan ID2700283 and I got two recent letters! One with the circle and a dot. :) But would you please check on it for me? No picture on my end, and one letter has numbers 24:16 but no numbers translated. I can't tell if these are thank you notes or if maybe that was a bible verse? One note says I will buy bag, shoes, clothes but it sounds like nothing had actually been purchased for him at the time the letter was written August 30th 2017. Are monetary gifts travelling that slow? I can see why I didn't get a picture if the money had not reached them by the six month mark.

Hi Kris! I do see that you sent that birthday gift to Jonathan in May, and am so sorry that the letter(s) you've recently received didn't have a photo of the gift. The second one, which mentions what he will buy, looks like that is actually the thank you letter. It's possible that they forgot to thank you for the gift and sent an extra letter to make up for it. Monetary gifts usually do take about two months, and sometimes up to three months to arrive in the project. When they arrive, the staff sit down and consult with the child to figure out what the child will purchase. It takes quite a bit of time for the full transaction to occur, but August is only three months after you had sent the donation. I am sending an inquiry to check up on this for you and to request the photo of Jonathan with his gifts.
