Yesterday was my second day hosting Release3 at my church. I'm a little bit discouraged-none of my children have been sponsored and not very many people have even come to the table. Most of the people who come already sponsor and come up to tell my about their sponsor child (which is great, but just shows your the crowd I'm getting). It is a small church, but I feel like more people have come up when my dad did Compassion Sunday. I made an announcement the first week (which was nerve racking!) and the table is in a spot you have to pass to get out of the sanctuary. What else should I do? I've been praying for these kids every day.

Emma, I understand a little of how you feel.  I'm doing Release3, too, and have also been praying with my family for sponsors for three children.  I also go to a small church.  My daughter is 18 and has been standing by the display, and she was a little discouraged last Sunday when she didn't get a lot of interest.  However, I think it is good to remember (as I shared with her) that not everyone is called to the same ministry.  Supporting a child through Compassion is a true ministry. I may not be called to be a Sunday School teacher, but I do feel called to support a child and write them letters.   On the other hand, maybe the person who is a good Sunday School teacher just doesn't feel they can take on any new ministries right now.  And it does take time for people's hearts to be ready for some things.  Just keep being faithful to what you believe God has called you to do right now.  Even if they kids don't get sponsored this time, they will not be forgotten by God.  Also I believe they go back on the Compassion site after a certain date in November.  So they will have other opportunities.
Thank you for sharing your concerns and also for giving those three children more chances to find a sponsor through the people at your church.  God bless you!
