I sent a birthday card to my sponsored child back in June and it shows it was delivered to him the next week in time for his birthday. I also sent him a letter a few days before the birthday card that is still in translation. Do the birthday cards always go faster? Also, do shorter more frequent letters help to get to the child faster? What are your recommendations for sending letters for quickest delivery? Thanks so much! :) I am eager for him to receive our letter!

I also sent my child a letter again last night and it shows it was already translated and on the way. Is there any way to get my first letter translated and to him quicker? The first letter we told him about us and asked questions whereas the other letters we just wrote about what has been happening in our lives so it would be nice if he got the first one at least soon if the other has already been translated and is on its way. :/

Hi Abby! Birthday cards and letters are processed in the exact same way that other letters are, no preference being given to them. However, I'm glad that Jhonsly was able to receive his birthday card so quickly! We are currently going through a transition period to our new letter system, and we have had to face and resolve more errors and bugs than we originally anticipated. Part of that has caused a backlog of letters at the country offices, including the one in Haiti. We are translating letters as quickly as possible, but I don't have a way to get your introduction letter translated any quicker right now. I am so sorry, but he will be receiving your first letter soon! I know Jhonsly will absolutely understand too! This transition has taken a lot of patience, grace, and prayer from all of our staff, children, and sponsors, and I know it's difficult to see it not working at it's best quite yet. As far as how to get letters delivered to him as quickly as possible, you are already doing it! Using the online tool is currently still the fastest way to get letters to him :). Some of them may still take more time than you anticipated as we are expecting letters to take up to three months to be completely processed and delivered, but they will continue to reach his eagerly waiting hands :). Thank you so much for loving this young kiddo and for sharing your family with him!
