I picked these up for one of my kids. Should I remove the covers before mailing them?

Hi Kristen! They appear to be thin magazines, right? If so, I would try to send them as is. If we need to, we may remove the covers, but there is a chance that they will make it through without removing them. I would say the later would be the best case scenario and that's what I would go for. :)

I didn't know that you could mail magazines. What other things can we mail to the kids? Those look like paper books.....

Hi Crissy! You can find a list of approved items that we are able to send to the kids as gifts on Compassion's website, here. They don't have magazines listed on there specifically, but coloring books, which are similar to magazines in physical characteristics, are approved. I think magazines are probably not listed on the approved list and encouraged as items to send more because of the contents of most magazines rather than because they won't go through the mail. Most magazines have a lot of advertising of fancy products or other images that might not be appropriate for the kids. I regularly send educational magazines, like the Highlights magazines, to my sponsored kids.
