Do these kiddos understand what being sponsored means and about those who sponsor them. Also are they and their parents genuinely receptive to the Gospel of Jesus?

Hi Mark! I am not sure exactly what prompted this question so please let me know if you have any further concerns. I am not sure if I can adequately explain how much sponsorship means to these families. All I can say is that it means more than you might imagine. You might watch this video of a child hearing she is sponsored and receiving her first letter. Listen to what her mother says about what this means to her. The program is literally hope in the midst of extreme poverty. I wish you could go and see it for yourself. Also, consider that we only partner with local evangelical churches. We are empowering the Church to minister to their own people. The local church was there in the community before us and will be there after us. They have built relationships in their community. They know each child and family by name. They visit their home regularly. We show them the love of Christ by giving them the benefits of the program - food, clothing, medical checkups and care, education, mentoring, relationships, and much, much more. And yes, after they have seen the incredible love of our staff and sponsors, many of these families do come to accept Christ but we do not require it. The church is there for the long haul to provide relationship and discipleship.

Hi Susan, thanks for your timely reply. The video was a blessing. I'm just trying to learn as much about the organization, and those involved, before attempting to write the first letter to my child, and when the appropriate time for that would be. In my acct. under, My Sponsorships, a name appears beside the photo of the boy I'm sponsoring; #TH9950180, but next to his Birthdate is what I assume to be his nick-name, is that correct?
Thanks for all you're doing in the name of Jesus, God bless you.

Mark, yes, your child's official name is Panasapol and his nickname is Tew-tor. May God bless you for all that you are doing for this precious boy! Merry Christmas!
