Does Compassion offer college counseling for older students who are about to graduate the program? More specifically, do they receive information about Universities and scholarships that are available outside the Compassion program? When I attended high school they would regularly update a binder full of scholarships that were available from different organizations and universities around our area. Furthermore, we would sometimes take field trips to colleges and learn more about them. Are students aware of these opportunities, and understand how to go about applying for scholarships?

Hi Lily! Actually, yes! Compassion staff do actually work very hard to help encourage and prepare students who are intending to enter university or even entering the workforce immediately. The churches we partner with in these countries are incredible and want to see the God given potential in each one of the children they serve come to light. As young teenagers, our students use a curriculum called "My Plan For Tomorrow", which allows them to create goals for their future and pursue those goals step by step. For some, that will include attending university, and the staff at the centers will absolutely help them in any way they can to find a university to attend where they will be successful and search for scholarships that may be available to them as well. If you happen to be curious, we do have a video about the curriculum. It does even show you a glimpse into what it physically looks like and how it is used :).
