From the answers given previously, it appears that getting money there faster is not a priority but, rather, saving the organization money so more of the money spent is actually used for the child's benefit rather than administration fees.  is there a particular need for money to be there faster?

Hi Stephen! Sarah is right. Our vision is to work in these areas over the long-term to do the most good. We are not only looking to send funds but to be good stewards of those funds. We want to economically deliver these funds so that more can go to the children and families we serve.

In addition, we have developed financial systems to account for global inflation and changes in wiring fees to help bring consistency and again to be good stewards with the support for the children. For a large organization like ourselves it is simply more efficient to work with banks that we have relationships with to send large amounts of funds at set times than it is to send small amounts very frequently. From my own personal experience with both international wires and Western Union, I have found that even for small amounts wire fees change less often and are often more economical, whereas Western Union can be very difficult to receive in some areas of the world and the fees vary greatly.

Lastly, it is important to recognize that we have a long term relationship with our church partners. We have empowered church partners with training and funds to immediately assist children and families whenever a need arises. If they need more funding, they can always apply to the country office. Because we are on the ground with funding, we don's have as great of a need to get funds there quickly when a disaster or crisis happens.
